The dancing itself includes Latin as well as ballroom styles, all set to the fantastic, show-stopping sounds of the magnificent Empress Orchestra and Dance Band. A great reason on its own to attend, the orchestra is the heartbeat of the event. You may well know their sound already from many radio and TV appearances, including BBC shows such as Strictly Come Dancing.

How can you get involved as a spectator? There are a huge range of performances and ticket options, from one day access to nine day tickets for those who don’t want to miss a single step: full details are on the official website HERE.

We’re close to all the action here at Tiffany’s Hotel, yet also right on the seafront so you can relax after each day of competition. Why not quickstep your way to us this May and join the fun? We have comfy seaside rooms, and with breakfast and tasty dinner included in tariffs we offer some of the best value festival accommodation in Blackpool. Some facts about Blackpool Dance Festival:

-The event was started in 1920, making it Blackpool’s longest running festival. Even with a break during wartime, 2015 will mark Dance Festival number 90!

-20,000 dancers will take to the floor this year, from over 60 countries.

-The event has been so successful internationally that a sister event will also take place in Shanghai this year.

-Ballroom Dancing is still a popular pastime in the UK, but our numbers can’t quite match the huge numbers of participants in China, where there are currently over 50 000 registered ballroom dancers!
