Our story so far...

Tiffany's Hotel was founded in 1995 by David Johnstone and the late Susan Johnstone. Prior to Tiffany's conception David was a registered accountant with a passion for numbers.

Susan on the other hand was a high school 'drop-out' who had been raised in and around the hospitality industry all her life, as her mother was also a Hotel owner. Having worked in various departments at several differnet Hotels Susan learned the tricks-of-the-trade which would she would later use to help run her mother's Hotel. As Susan's passion for hospitality continued to flourish so to did her hunger...

Then, one fateful day in 1994 as Susan was driving to her mothers Hotel, she drove passed what used to be the Lansdowne Hotel. Legend has it that Susan immeadiately fell in love with the old, dilapidated and bankrupt Hotel and so decided to enquire. As luck would have it, an unbeknownst to Susan at the time, the Lansdowne had just been declared bankrupt and all the big chiefs were in town to discuss it's future.

Several meetings later...

and with a business plan now drawn up David & Susan managed to negotiate taking ownership of this once bankrupt Hotel. David then decided to bring his accountacy career to an end and apply his skills to help drive the new family business forward.

Over the months and years to come David & Susan invested almost every penny they had into the much needed refurbishments. As well as money, they spent every waking hour at the Hotel in an attempt to turn this once failing business around.

As the business began to grow, so to did the need to expand. It's no suprise then that when the opportunity to purchase the Empire Hotel, a smaller 30 bedroom Hotel next door to Tiffany's, the couple jumped at the chance and secured the deal. Tiffany's then grew from 90 bedrooms to 120 bedrooms. But again...more investment was needed to refurbish this older side of the Hotel.

In amongst juggling the pressures and commitments of starting up and running a large Hotel,

David & Susan also had a young boy together, called Adam. Just like his Mother, Adam is no stranger to Hotels having been raised in and around them since birth. It was always their intention for Adam to eventually take the lead at Tiffany's later in life.

Naturally, Adam had other ideas as a kid. He wanted to be; a fireman, a footballer, a wrestler then later in life a rapper. Well, if you're going to dream...may as well dream BIG right? As Adam grew his interests began to change and his younger, off-the-cuff, pipe dreams began to fade.

Over the school holidays Adam helped out at the Hotel. From cleaning pots and pans in the pot-wash, to serving guests breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. He'd later go on to the maintenance team where he'd do everything from changing a lightbulb to smashing down old walls ready for redevelopment. Oh, and he accidentally smashed through a hot water pipe causing a flood and drenching himself from head-to-toe in the process. (but don't tell him I told you!)

Fast forward several years...

Sadly, in 2012, Susan passed away suddenly leaving a HUGE hole in the family and the day-to-day operations of the Hotel. As mentioned, it was always Susans intentions for Adam to take over the Hotel, but it was never supposed to happen so quick.

But life isn't fair...and whilst Adam would never want the memory of his mother to be forgotten (and it won't be), Adam recognised that it was now time to...make or break. Adam very much wanted to 'carry his mothers torch forward' and do her legacy proud. Over the days, weeks and months to follow Adam and his Father David worked tirelessley to ensure the business continued to flourish.

  • New systems were installed to help the team perform their duties to the standard which Susan would expect.
  • The car park was retarmacced for guests comfort, health & safety.
  • The exterior was repainted from all pink to white with pink highlights. This definately spruced up Tiffany's curb appeal but also meant we could keep a bit of Pink as that has now become part of the Tiffany's brand.
  • Room refurbishments began, and continue each month, ensuring all future guests continue to receive the very best value for money accommdation in Blackpool
  • The team was restructured - ensuring the right person was in the right place performing the duties which they are best at.

Here we are almost 6 years later and the Hotel has continued to thrive and is now one of the most popular Hotels in Blackpool. Work continues to be carried out on a day-to-day basis with Adam and his family still very much involved. We know we are not perfect...but we love the Hotel, we love our team...and we love our guests. Therefore Adam and his family pledge that they will never stop working to bring every room, every public area and every service which we offer to the highest standard so that you and future guests alike can have that Tiffany's experience that Susan would want.

We hope you will pay us a visit and enjoy a relaxing and comfortable stay at Tiffany's Hotel very soon!

Meet the team...

Tiffany's Hotel is still very much a family business but one man can only achieve so much on his own. Adam knows this and he knows the value of having a happy and passionate team. He's very proud of the team he works with which is lead my our General Manager, Karl Myhill.  Like our guests, Adam & Karl want their team members to be happy to work at Tiffany's. They want every team member to feel part of something special and take satisfaction in what they do so we can deilver the best service possible. Tiffany's has undergone some significant changes both to the bricks and mortar but also the core team who help to deliver the standards you have come to expect. Adam owes a lot of credit to his team and is very grateful for all their work.

Take a look at the - "Who's who" at Tiffany's Hotel.

Regular guests will note some familiar faces, some of which have been with Tiffany's since it's creation some 20+ years ago. Other, newer faces on the block have had recent promotions within the business and are on hand to help you during your stay.
